We Are Here UK is an artist-led and artist-run platform.
Their aim is to provide an open platform for discussion around what it means to be British, led by BME women and non-binary people of colour. They work with British BME women and non-binary artists across the UK hosting exhibitions, workshops and panel discussions.
Initially starting out as a standalone exhibition at Alev Lenz Studio in Shoreditch (July 2017), WeAre Here featured a mix of fourteen handpicked, established and emerging artists. The artwork explored their dual identities and heritage. After an overwhelming response to this first exhibition, We Are Here UK is now an ongoing project and platform working with universities and arts organisations. These include the V&A, Dulwich Picture Gallery, Camden Roundhouse and London School of Economics.
We Are Here UK will be running a new art club series of three monthly evening, workshops encouraging you to embrace and explore your creative side! Once confirmed all upcoming workshops will be added to our Art Events page. Or you can contact [email protected] for more information.
