With Artist Ashley Hanson
The Group are based in Hythe, not far from the New Forest National Park. They are a diverse gathering of local artists who meet on Tuesday evenings. Mostly for social painting and drawing sessions. Additionally, they also organise a programme of demonstrations, occasional workshops as well as an annual exhibition of group works.
The group were a wonderful crowd to work with and approached Ashley’s exercises with lots of enthusiasm, embracing the concepts that helped push them out of their comfort zones. Afterwards, many of the members actually had new ideas and found new ways to approach their painting.

About Ashley
Ashley is a renowned landscape artist and colourist and a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists. He has exhibited widely in the UK including:
- Royal Academy Summer Exhibition,
- Discerning Eye,
- National Open Art competition.
