Meet Jo York, our GreatArt blogger!
Sometimes having the choice of 50,000 products available from GreatArt can make it hard to decide which products are best for you, or which one’s you want to try next. We also understand you are interested in discovering new ways to use and experiment with your favourite products. So last November, with the help of artist Jo York, we launched a new resource for artists in the form of The Great Art Materials Blog.
Jo is an artist, teacher and art education consultant based between Harrogate and Ripon in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. She is frequently distracted by the wildlife outside her studio window, including red Kites, a kingfisher and an extremely grumpy resident pheasant.
Her work spans fine art, illustration, surface pattern design and textiles, and she has an ongoing fascination with experimentation and developing new techniques. Her work incorporates a wide range of media including acrylics, dyes and drawn, printed and collaged elements, and is increasingly moving towards the abstract.

In between doing her own work, blogging for Great Art and supporting art education in schools, colleges and universities, Jo also loves helping others to unlock their creative potential and runs creative workshops and courses from her purpose built studio.
