A very simple trick that produces pretty and colourful wash effects !

How to create a wash with Fineliners & Technical pens
This idea is so easy to remember, and in less time than it takes to say … Hop, click, it’s already shared!
Remember For Next Time
It is too often forgotten that the fineliner or technical pen (with a water-soluble ink) remains a rich medium that can be easily diluted and used on many drawings.
It is possible to strengthen your composition and increase its graphic originality by running over certain lines with a wet brush to spread out the pigment and reveal a light coloured wash.
By passing the wet brush over the lines of an inked sketch or drawing, the wash blurs the lines, diffuses the colour, and above all adds some transparency effects. The result is quite interesting!

You Will Need on your Table
- Ink pen or water-soluble marker (in my demonstration, I used a Staedtler silver ball and a Pilot Technical pen)
- 1 round-tip brush or 1 reservoir brush
- Container with water + a roll of paper towels
- Some sheets of thick paper (such as 300gsm watercolour paper )
