I love to find and salvage old objects to give them a second life. With a little creativity and DIY, artists’ materials can easily be transformed into clever storage solutions to decorate the creative space.
1.💡 Turning a retro suitcase into decorative hanging storage
Sometimes by simply changing the angle of view, one discovers surprises, aesthetics and efficiency. When a suitcase is fixed to the wall, it is transformed into a side cabinet. A very practical result for storing your small artist’s equipment!

2. 💡 Turning a hanger into a picture rail to hang drawings
These trouser hangers are very useful for hanging drawings on the wall or on a rack. Try them and you’ll love them!

3. 💡 Turning jars into store brushes
The glass is heavy enough to hold the brushes. Everything will stay in position without tipping over as is sometimes the case with plastic or metal jars.

4. 💡 Turning foam wedges into painting dividers
To avoid finished paintings rubbing and to avoid these annoying snags when paintings on canvas are placed together, nothing beats a foam insert placed on the edge of the painting. This is a simple solution that can be achieved by cutting a foam wedge in half in a single movement. You avoid contact and thus protect the painted side from possible damage!

5. 💡 Turning a trestle into an easel
Just add a few nails, and you have a trestle transformed into a well thought-out easel. To be used as you wish, on the floor or on a table.

6.💡 Using a wood tray to frame drawings
Usually used for serving, the tray can be painted or left rough. In any case, the boxed frame looks great on the studio walls.
The wood makes it easy to attach: tacks, adhesive or 3M adhesive strips.

7. 💡 Turning a pizza board into a display for sketches
There are no limits to your imagination. Here’s proof with this trick to be reproduced without moderation! I have a clear preference for silver clips.

8. 💡 Turning an artist’s palette into a blackboard
On a new rectangular wooden palette, apply 2 or 3 coats of chalkboard paint to turn your artist’s palette into an erasable tablet. It can be hung everywhere with its big hole!
