In addition to an exhibition of works in the GreatArt store, Farnoush Amini will also be teaching an introduction to clay sculpture for beginners.
Working from a model you will be taught how to create a 1/3 life size figure using accurate proportions and scale, in clay and wire, using tools.

About the Artist
Farnoush Amini was born in Iran. Her work has been influenced by Iran’s revolution, war, religion and political situation. Her practice moves between sculpture, installation and performance art.
She looks beyond boundaries created by cultural, religious and political suppression by referring to symbols or customs related to her cultural upbringing. Using her art practice to question ingrained political ideology and cultural beliefs she explores the connection between organic and non-organic matter such as human hair, fabric, metal, feather, ice, sound or readymade objects to create her own language of temporality and presence.
About the Sheroes project
In March we will be continuing our partnership with Lon-art, supporting their flagship project, Sheroes Revoluciones, Women’s Herstory Month edition.
Sheroes is a collaborative project bringing together UK and international artists, feminist organisations, charities and the general public.
This is a platform for women* artists, allies and organisations to use their creative expression to give a voice to, and turn our eyes towards, silenced and overlooked heroines – sheroes – throughout herstory and visual art, and offer inspiring female role models for us all.
Sheroes-Revoluciones was launched on 22-24 November 2019 with an exhibition that showcased 30 artists from all over the world and was attended by over 700 people. The project is inspired by the staggering statistics that show how women are potential and real victims of violence in our society.
Sheroes–Revoluciones aims to visualise this social issue, using the arts to express, reflect, prevent and heal involving different social agents.
Sheroes-Revoluciones comes back with another exhibition to commemorate Women’s Herstory Month from the 20-22nd March.
Sheroes-Revoluciones WHM Edition will give continuity to Lon-art’s mission to provide a platform for artists, survivors and change-makers. The WHM Edition will include 11 artists from the Sheroes-Revoluciones exhibition in November that will create brand new artworks for the occasion: Farnoush Amini – Sheroes-Revoluciones Prize winner -, Abigail Hammond, Amy Oliver, Anne Plaisance, Cherish Marshall, Divya Mittal, Felicity Taylor, Lidia Lidia, Michaela Haynes, Rachelle Romeo and Susana Millán.
This time around, Sheroes-Revoluciones will also include a full day of panel talks on Saturday March 21st that through the voices of women in the academia, public figures, artists and activists will provide a space for reflection.
