Who are your ‘art mothers’ and creative matriarchs?
Celebrate the matriarchy and the inspiration women in your life in a pre-Mothers’ Day mixed media workshop led by Art Macabre’s Nikki Shaill.
Using a mixture of embroidery and collage, create unique cards or artworks to remember the inspirational women in your life or gift to them. Whether it’s your mum/grandmother/fairy godmother/an inspirational aunt/ancestors/adopted matriarch figures/inspirational ‘art mothers’; we’ll take inspiration from women artists in our creations from Hannah Hoch and Lubaina Himid to Annegret Soltau. Feel free to bring along photos/photocopies of chosen women to incorporate into your creations and stitch over.
A workshop for everyone, of all genders and ages, aimed at adult participants. Families are free to bring along babies in arms and children, however please be aware that embroidery needles will be being used in this workshop so it may not be suitable for younger children to participate.
This workshop is on a first come, first served drop in basis. RSVP on Eventbrite or our Facebook page to let us know you’re coming!
