Fun creative embroidery workshop with fashion designer Sarah Hollebon
London-based artist, fashion designer, and mental health activist, Sarah Hollebon, raises awareness of social issues through the medium of fashion. When Sarah is not working on her business, public speaking, or working in mental health, she spends her down time reading, going for walks, and cross stitching!
“Cross stitching is a simple, fun, and creative activity I regularly do to help me relax and unwind. The rhythm of the cross stitching is therapeutic and calming for me and is one of the tools I have in place to help manage my mental ill health.”
Join Sarah on Saturday 23 July at GreatArt for her cross stitch workshop. There will be 2 workshops running on the day, 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm.
Starting off the workshop, Sarah will share an insight into her mental health journey and how cross stitching has become a beneficial tool to help with her well-being.
Sarah will guide you through the workshop showing you how to cross stitch. There will be a selection of minimal yet effective designs for you to pick. You can also paint on the fabric for a mixed media affect. Sarah will then show you how to turn your cross stitch design into a bookmark for you to take away and keep!
No skills or experience needed, this will be about having fun and allowing your creative juices to flow. I hope this workshop will leave you feeling relaxed, empowered and more connected to your creativity. Children and families welcome.
