
The Great North Art Show Winners
This year Ripon Cathedral was filled with work from over 50 artists, including wall-hung pieces, sculpture and a video installation.
The judges feedback of this years show was; “A lively exhibition that encompasses a wide range of mediums, showcasing new video work for the first time, and work in non-traditional mediums such as felt and stitch work. Once again the Great North Art Show demonstrates that there is a wealth of talent in the North of England and the Cathedral is a wonderful showcase.”
This year, GreatArt was happy to sponsor the show’s School Art Prize. The selected winners were:
The Great Art Prize for best body of work from a Secondary School- Ripon Grammar School.
The Great Art prize for best body of work from a Primary School- split between two schools-Bilton Grange Community Primary School and Oatlands Junior School.
The winning artist from a Secondary School- Josephine Canning ( Ripon Grammar School) for her painting “Geology”
Secondary School runner up- Lauren Bradwell( Ripon Grammar School) for “Littlethorpe”, a mixed media piece.
The winning artist from a Primary school- Tilda Brayshay (Pannal Primary School) for her colourful collage, ‘Sailing Boats”
Primary School runner up – Ruby Wilson (Oatlands Junior School).
