Recognised for their outstanding smoothness…
Looking for a technique allowing him to fully express himself without restraint, he wanted a new material that combined oil paint, for its pictorial richness, and soft pastel, for its enjoyable and efficient application mode. It was through his friend, the painter Henri Goetz, that Picasso asked Henri Sennelier to develop a new technique. From this collaboration came the first 47 Sennelier oil pastels.
Sennelier oil pastels now offers a range of 120 exceptional shades, as a result of the collaboration of numerous European and North-American painters and the longstanding ‘savoir-faire’ of the Sennelier brand.
The Sennelier oil pastel, is recognized for its outstanding smoothness, and is composed of highly concentrated pigments of the highest quality, a non-siccative, acid-free, inert binder and acid-free wax. The new Sennelier oil pastels range is also 100% lightfast.
